The Wanderer was borne out of an idea to source beautiful pieces from skilled artisan collectives in Africa and beyond. With a strong commitment to ethical trade, we strive to create honest partnerships and always pay our weavers exactly what they deserve for their craft.

The Wanderer is proud to partner with Afrikids, who support our basket weaving collective in Bolgatanga by offering start-up loans. This outstanding NGO also does valuable work providing education, child protection, micro-financing and healthcare in the region, creating real change to disadvantaged communities. £5 from each basket sold goes to Afrikids to support the valuable work they do.

£5 helps:

  • clothe, feed and care for a vulnerable baby and help to find them a safe home.
  • provide night school classes for children living on the streets.
  • provide support for mothers and children living with cerebral palsy.
  • educate and empower communities to end child marriage and the killing of “spirit children”.
